The best of it is indistinguishable — same implant systems, same ceramics, same digital planning, often clinicians who trained or specialised in Italy. The worst of it is genuinely bad, and the gap between the two is wider here than in a heavily regulated market. That gap is the entire reason an agency has any right to exist. Judge the clinic, not the country.

Message your coordinator first, with photos. Many alarming things (a high bite, a loose temporary, gum soreness at week three) are adjustable, and sometimes a dentist at home can fix it in twenty minutes at the partner clinic's cost.

If it's a real failure covered by the guarantee, the clinic redoes the work at no charge for treatment. Be clear-eyed: guarantees cover dentistry, not flights. Budget for the possibility that a return trip is on you, and check the saving still makes sense with that included.

Cross-border legal recourse is limited and slow. That's true everywhere in dental tourism, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling.

Crowns, veneers, root canals, hygiene and most repairs, yes — comfortably in five days. Implants usually can't be, because fusing to bone takes three to four months in the lower jaw and up to six in the upper. Immediate loading, where a temporary tooth goes on the same day, is possible when the implant is stable enough during surgery — and the surgeon can only judge that in the moment. Any clinic promising finished implants in a week, before seeing your bone, is promising what it can't know.

A panoramic X-ray is enough for a realistic plan and price range before you travel. It isn't enough to place an implant — that needs a CBCT, which we do on day one in Tirana at no extra cost. If the plan changes after the scan, you see the revised version and revised price before treatment starts.

You pay the clinic directly, in Tirana, at the time of treatment — card or cash. We take no deposit and never handle your money. Our fee comes from the clinic, which is a genuine conflict of interest and we'd rather you knew: it's also why we work with several clinics, so there's no single place we're pushed to send you.

Implant surgery is done under local anaesthetic and isn't painful during. The two or three days after involve swelling and ache, managed with ordinary painkillers. Sedation is available if you're anxious — say so early, because it changes scheduling and whether you can fly. If dental fear is what's kept you away for years, put it in the form. It's the thing people are most embarrassed to write and the most useful for us to know.

Not necessarily, but it must be disclosed, and it changes both the plan and the guarantee. Smoking meaningfully raises implant failure and is commonly excluded from guarantees. Uncontrolled diabetes affects healing. Anticoagulants and bisphosphonates need coordinating with your doctor at home before you fly. Tell us everything — a clinic that isn't asking about your medical history is one to avoid.

Two to three days minimum after implant placement, so swelling can be assessed and stitches checked. Flying itself is fine — cabin pressure doesn't affect implants — but being 2,000 km from your surgeon on day two isn't. We build those days into the schedule and won't shorten them on request.

Some dentists are hostile about treatment abroad, and some of that hostility is earned by our industry — but you'll get better long-term care if you're straight with them.
