Terms & Conditions
Version 1.0 · Last updated 9 August 2026
Read this part first. Smile Albania is a patient coordination agency. We are not a dental clinic, not a healthcare provider, and not a travel organiser. We introduce you to independent dental clinics in Tirana and help you organise the practicalities. Your treatment contract is with the clinic, and the clinic — not us — holds clinical responsibility for your care.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Smile Albania (“we”, “us”, “the Agency”) is a patient coordination agency registered in Albania. These terms govern your use of this website and any coordination services we provide to you (“you”, “the Patient”).
In these terms, the Clinic means the independent dental practice in Albania that provides your treatment. Treatment means any dental care that Clinic provides to you. Our Services means the coordination work described in section 2.
By sending us your details, records or images, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use our services.
2. What we do — and what we do not do
We do:
- Pass the records you send us to a licensed dentist at a partner clinic, so they can prepare a written treatment plan;
- Check that the treating dentist holds a current individual licence from the Order of Dentists of Albania (Urdhri i Stomatologut, USSH), and give you their licence number so you can verify it yourself in the public register;
- Help you arrange dates, accommodation and airport transfers;
- Provide a named coordinator who can be reached before, during and after your treatment;
- Help you communicate with the Clinic, including if something goes wrong.
We do not:
- Provide dental or medical treatment of any kind;
- Employ the dentists who treat you, or supervise or direct their clinical work;
- Guarantee any clinical outcome, or the quality, safety or success of any Treatment;
- Act as your agent, or as agent of the Clinic, in relation to clinical care;
- Act as a package travel organiser. Any help with flights, hotels or transfers is introduction and coordination only, and any contract for those services is between you and the relevant provider.
The contract for your Treatment is between you and the Clinic. You will sign the Clinic’s own consent and treatment forms, and those documents govern your care.
3. No medical advice
Nothing on this website, in our messages, or from our automated WhatsApp assistant is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a recommendation of treatment. We are not dentists and we will not interpret your X-rays, tell you what treatment you need, or tell you whether a treatment is safe for you. Only a qualified dentist who has examined you can do that.
Our WhatsApp assistant is an artificial intelligence system and identifies itself as one. It may make mistakes. It does not diagnose, and anything it tells you about price is an indicative range, not a quote.
If you are in pain, have swelling, or believe you may have an infection, seek care from a local dentist or emergency service immediately. We are not an emergency service.
4. Quotes, prices and treatment plans
Prices shown on this website are indicative ranges compiled from published sources and partner clinic price lists. They are not offers and they are not binding.
A written treatment plan prepared from records you send us is a preliminary assessment made without a physical examination. It is normal and expected for a plan to change after the 3D (CBCT) scan carried out on your first day at the Clinic, because that scan shows bone volume, nerve position and sinus anatomy that no photograph or panoramic X-ray can show.
If the plan changes, the Clinic will show you the revised plan and the revised price before any treatment begins, and you are free to decline.
Additional procedures found to be necessary during treatment — for example bone grafting or a sinus lift — carry additional cost. These will be explained and priced before they are carried out, and require your approval.
5. Payment
You pay the Clinic directly. We do not take deposits, we do not handle your money, and we do not charge you a fee for our coordination services.
We are paid a coordination fee by the treating Clinic. We disclose this openly because it is a commercial interest you are entitled to know about. It is also why we work with several partner clinics rather than one, so there is no single clinic we are obliged to send you to.
The Clinic may ask you for a booking deposit to hold your appointment dates. Any such deposit is charged by the Clinic under the Clinic’s own terms, is deducted from your treatment bill, and is not paid to us. Ask for those terms in writing before you pay anything.
6. Travel, accommodation and the €5,000 reimbursement
You book and pay for your own flights. We can reserve accommodation and airport transfers on your behalf, but any contract for those services is between you and the provider.
Travel reimbursement for plans over €5,000. Where the final agreed treatment total exceeds €5,000, the Clinic reimburses the Patient’s flights and accommodation, including for both trips where the treatment requires two visits.
The following conditions apply:
- It is a reimbursement, not a prepayment. You pay for your own travel first, and the money is returned to you.
- It must be agreed with our team in writing before you book anything. The reimbursement is arranged case by case with the Clinic. If you book travel without confirming eligibility and the terms with us in advance, no reimbursement is owed.
- The threshold is measured on the final treatment total, which is only confirmed after the 3D scan. A preliminary estimate above €5,000 does not guarantee eligibility if the final plan comes in below it.
- It covers the Patient only, not a travel companion.
- Reasonable limits apply to the fare and the number of nights covered. These will be confirmed to you in writing in advance.
- The reimbursement is provided by the Clinic. We coordinate it, but we do not pay it and we are not liable for it.
7. Your responsibilities
- Tell us and the Clinic the truth about your health. You must disclose all relevant medical conditions and medications, including diabetes, anticoagulants or blood thinners, bisphosphonates, immunosuppression, heart conditions, pregnancy and smoking. Some of these change what treatment is possible, and some affect the Clinic’s guarantee.
- Confirm with your own doctor that you are fit to travel and to undergo treatment.
- Arrange your own travel insurance. Standard travel insurance often excludes planned medical treatment abroad — check your policy.
- Check your passport, visa and entry requirements for Albania.
- Follow the Clinic’s post-operative instructions, attend follow-up appointments, and maintain the oral hygiene required to keep any guarantee valid.
- Give us accurate contact details so we can reach you.
We strongly recommend that you show any treatment plan to your own dentist before you travel. A second opinion costs us nothing and protects you.
8. Guarantees and aftercare
Any guarantee on your treatment is given by the Clinic, in writing, under the Clinic’s own terms. We are not a party to it and we do not underwrite it. Read the exclusions before you travel.
Guarantees typically cover the dentistry only. They do not cover flights, accommodation or time off work for any return visit. You should budget for the possibility that a second trip is at your own cost.
You will leave the Clinic with your treatment records, including the implant system, reference and batch numbers where implants are placed, post-operative X-rays and a clinical letter for your own dentist. Keep these. They are what makes you treatable at home in the years to come.
Our aftercare is coordination and communication only. We do not provide clinical aftercare and we cannot treat you.
9. Complaints
If something is wrong, contact your coordinator first. We will pass your complaint to the Clinic, help with translation and documentation, and follow it up on your behalf. We will do this whether or not the outcome favours the Clinic.
We cannot compel the Clinic to reach any particular outcome, and we have no authority over its clinical decisions.
You may also contact the Order of Dentists of Albania (USSH), which regulates individual dentists and can consider complaints about professional conduct.
10. Cancellation and changes
You may stop dealing with us at any time, for any reason, at no cost. Nothing you send us commits you to treatment.
Cancellation of appointments, and any deposit that may be refundable, are governed by the Clinic’s terms. Flights and accommodation are governed by the terms of the airline or hotel.
We may decline to work with anyone, and we may end our involvement, including where a request would require us to act against a patient’s clinical interests or where the conduct towards our team is abusive.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for the Treatment itself, or for any act or omission of the Clinic, its dentists or its staff, including any clinical negligence claim;
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of airlines, hotels, transfer providers or any other third party;
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of earnings, or wasted expenditure;
- Our total liability to you in connection with our services is limited to the coordination fee we received in relation to your case.
We take reasonable care in selecting partner clinics and verifying their dentists’ licences, but selection and verification are not a guarantee of clinical outcome.
12. Your data
Dental X-rays, photographs and medical history are special category health data under Article 9 of the GDPR. We treat them accordingly.
We share your records only with the licensed dentist reviewing your case, and only once you have given explicit consent. We record what you consented to and when. You can withdraw consent at any time and ask us to delete your files, and we will do so.
Your records are stored in the European Union. We never sell them and never use them for marketing. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
13. Website content
We work to keep this website accurate, but it may contain errors or become out of date. Prices, availability and clinical information change. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance.
Where we link to other websites, including the public register of the Order of Dentists, we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date you engage our services, and the version number and date appear at the top of this page.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Albania, and the courts of Tirana have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there where the law gives you that right.
